There will be a series of online conferences over the next 12 months aimed at supporting Leagues, Clubs and Coaches to get prepped. The first session kicks off in November focusing on Leagues.
There will be brand new training specifically for 3v3 across three modules:
- Creating the Environment – The Right Space, The Right Start
- Coaching 3v3 – Small Game, Big Learning
- Playing 3v3 – Small Games, Big Impact
There will be 3v3 festivals delivered locally through County FAs offering the opportunity for clubs and coaches to familiarise themselves with the new format ahead of the 2026/27 season.
From 2026, a new network of County Coach Developers will support coaches to help them bring the changes to life.
To help you get started, the Football Foundation will be offering a bespoke 3v3 Goal Support Package. More details on how to apply will follow at the League Conference in November.
In 2026, we will publish details of our plans for how parents & carers can play a crucial role in supporting a thriving environment for all young players
A wide range of support materials will be available on this hub to make sure everyone understands the role they can play in making Future Fit a success.
We appreciate change can be challenging. Only by working together can we ensure changes are introduced in the best way possible.
With your support, we will continue to provide young players with the best possible football experience.
FAQs:
Will we have to affiliate more teams for 3v3?
For 3v3 the idea is not to have smaller squads playing a single 3v3 fixture.
Will we need to create lots of new 3v3 pitches?
Pitches don't need to be marked permanently – and they can be marked with cones or flat disks.
